Thai Kitchen Restaurant - Thunder Bay: Authentic Thai Flavors Await

I ordered two spring rolls, the Sen Pad Ped (medium heat) and a Singha beer. The spring rolls are huge and fresh out of the fryer! I've never had Sen Pad Ped, but it sure was tasty. Just the perfect amount of heat and fish sauce I would say. Perhaps a touch on the salty side, but nothing remotely worth complaining about. The Singha beer compliments the heat (thermally and spiciness). 9/10 would recommend!

Tried Thai Kitchen recently, and honestly, it hit all the right notes. The food? Packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, and served hot — exactly what you’d hope for when craving Thai. From the curries to the noodles, everything tasted fresh and made with care. The service was smooth and genuine. No forced smiles, just friendly people who clearly take pride in what they do. They checked in just enough to make sure we were good, without hovering. The space itself felt cozy and calm — not overly fancy, but really well put together. It’s the kind of place you settle into and immediately start planning your next visit before the meal’s even over. If you haven’t been, go. Thai Kitchen isn’t just good — it’s consistently great.

I truly appreciate that this restaurant still includes a 10% tipping option. In recent years, many places have preset their tip suggestions starting at 18% or even higher, regardless of the service quality. At a Michelin-starred restaurant I once visited, the server took the time to explain each dish’s origin, flavor profile, and thoughtfully read the table’s mood before applying a fixed 18% gratuity. That level of service justifies it. But now, even at average places with minimal service interaction, 18%+ tips are pushed by default. It’s refreshing to see a restaurant that respects the customer’s discretion and offers fair, reasonable choices. Good food, fair tipping—well done!

The curry and the spring roll were absolutely fabulous but I’ve had better stir fry; the shrimps were quite small. Overall great food though!

We were driving from Newmarket, ON to Cold Lake, AB and Thunder Bay was our last stop today. After researching restaurants, my husband found Thai Kitchen and the reviews were too good not to try the food. My favourite dish to order when visiting a Thai restaurant is always Pad Thai. So after looking at the menu we settled on our orders. But before we placed our order we looked at the surrounding tables and it seemed everyone had spring rolls. Do we decided to order two as an appetizer. We were not disappointed. The spring rolls arrived, large, piping hot and once we took our first bit, exploding with flavour. Super glad we ordered these. Finally our main dish arrived (my husband got some spicy chicken rice dish) and I quickly dug in to my pad Thai. WOW. Lots of peanuts, fresh green onions, plenty of chicken, perfectly cooked noodles and the flavour was outstanding. I can say this was my favourite Pad Thai that I have ever eaten. The service was prompt, courteous and if you ever come to Thunder Bay, you have to eat here.

Had the best green curry. Portions are large and service excellent. I was served by a very conscientious and helpful person. I’d like to call her out but didn’t get a name. She just had a blond ponytail. Very very good food.

I went this place with my husband and we ordered one hot and sour soup with chicken and pad thai fried rice. I think the quantity was good but the taste of this food is not that convincing for my Indian palate. But their customer service and ambiance was so nice..
